With Bambi being pregnant I started to evaluate if we are properly prepared for a baby. The guys at work rode with me a few weeks back in the Honda Element and the first thing they say is the Element will not work well because of the suicide doors. That got the ball rolling, so I spent the next few days researching small to mid size SUVs. One other factor playing into the decision as well was if Bambi gets busier with Real Estate, it will be important for her to have an easy access vehicle for 4 people. So on one of my half Fridays we went to every dealership in Humble looking at their SUVs. We evaluated just about every maker out there. The ones we liked the most were the Ford Flex, GMC Acadia, Honda Pilot, and Chevrolet Traverse. We ended up siding with the mid size SUVs, we knew we would grow out of the small SUV too quickly.
Chevy Traverse |
The Traverse and the Acadia are practically the same vehicle except the Acadia comes with more standard features and is pricier. Bambi didn’t care much for the look of the Ford Flex, she said it looked like a Hearst. So we decided to go with the Traverse because we knew of Chevrolet’s 0% financing and we had just got rid of our Monte Carlo but they said we still could get another $1,000 off. We are very happy with our purchase, we weren’t upside down on the Element and ended up getting about $1,500 more than we owed on it. Marcus Lofton was the sales rep at Robbins Chevrolet and would recommend him to anyone if looking for a Chevrolet.
So I’m kind of car envy right now but my truck has been paid off for over a year now and its nice not having a car payment. But then I received this in the mail today.
So I looked up my truck on Kelly Blue Book today and it’s worth $6,000, I’ve got this flyer telling me they will give $10,600. What to do, I will update later.
